It is my pleasure to welcome you to the American International School of Bolivia (AISB).
AISB is a co-educational, pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade school located in the heart of Cochabamba, Bolivia. It was founded in 1993. The primary language of instruction at AISB is Englishand this allows our students to become bilingual. We aim to give each student the necessary tools to reach his/her full potential while preparing them to become a conscientious citizen in a globalized society. To achieve this objective, we combine academic excellence with modern teaching methods, preparing students for the mastery of at least two languages through a combination of formal classes, language immersion activities and extracurricular activities in sports, the arts and music. We recognize the importance of a balanced education and do so through the students’ participation in community service projects, a wide range of extra-curricular activities, and by surrounding them in a friendly, welcoming environment that allows them to flourish.
Our school is fully accredited by Cognia, an accrediting agency from the United States of America; it is also authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and the Ministry of Education in Bolivia. This allows the school to offer not only the Bolivian educational program, but also a US-based college preparatory curriculum and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program – the only school in the region that has this range of diplomas. These programs provide our students the platform to continue their higher education whether in Bolivia or internationally.
